Absolutely no sailing knowledge is required as a prerequisite for the course, because there will be a fully trained facilitator on each boat. He or she is a skilled communicator, thoroughly trained in teamworking techniques, as well as being a qualified Royal Yachting Association Commercial Yachtmaster. The facilitator will provide technical sailing advice as necessary, and interventions during the exercises will be confined to ensuring that the boat and all on board are kept safe.

The courses will be run in the secure and sheltered environment of the Solent, surely the most famous sailing grounds in the world. The boats used will be new Bavaria 38 and 44s. These are ideal cruising boats, comfortable and safe, and they come fully equipped and licenced to exacting Department of Transport standards. Although they are designed to sleep eight, we would not have any more than six at a time on board (plus the skipper).
